Kool and the Gang Perform “Celebration”

We are so blessed to have PNC Bank Arts Center so close to our home. For a family who loves music, a family friendly live music venue is so important. With children, we can no longer just buy tickets and travel to the city to see a show, go bar hopping and grab the last train home. Getting a baby sitter is wonderful and allows us to spend some husband/wife time alone to re-connect, however, it adds an extra $100 to the night's already exorbitant tab - a decent meal is $100 for 2 people, a concert can be $300, transportation and parking are another at least $25-50.

We needed to find things to do that incorporated our kids which meant the needed to be pretty local, stimulating, because there is nothing more annoying than a bored child and affordable. We do the zoos, beaches, Great Adventure, walk the boards on the Jersey Shore - all of them, parks, play dates, you name it. We've since incorporated PNC which offers lawn seats to its summer concerts at an affordable cost and we are now frequenting every cool show we can make fit into our schedule.

This time it was Kool and the Gang! The kids hear Kool and the Gang songs at every DJ party we attend and were familiar with the tunes which was an added bonus because they were groovin' during the show and tired on the way home!!! As usual, my kids went shopping in the Kiditude warehouse and dressed in rock kids t-shirts for the show.

This song "Celebration" was released in 1980 by Kool and the Gang. It reached #1 on the Billboard Charts in 1981. Since Kool and the Gang formed in 1964, the have sold 70 million albums! From our family to yours, we hope you enjoy our video clip from the concert!
